Here’s the first mistake that newbies make in this business:

1) Not targeting their prospects

If you didn’t already know, you need to target your prospects. Selling to non-interested prospects will only waste time and money. Now there are many different ways to target your ideal prospect. And you will want to do so in the most efficient way as possible. For example, let me give you a good understand of this via offline marketing.

In the offline marketing word, there’s a marketing technique called “direct mail”. With direct mail, you have “sales letters” that you can mail out to thousands of people at one time – thereby expanding your reach incredibly. You don’t have to drive out to different cities or states to find new prospects. Use direct mail to build your downline, and become more effective with your marketing.

If you tried to do the same thing with cold calling or face to face selling… you won’t get very far. There’s just not enough time to reach thousands of people with these 2 techniques. But with direct mail, it’s possible. Here’s another mistake that newbies make in the online network marketing business:

2) Not following up with downline members

This is where the bulk of your income will come from. You have to make sure that your downline members are successful. To do this, you will want to provide them with information and marketing techniques that have worked for you. If you can host online webinars and tele-conferences, this is a good idea also.

The more money your downline makes, the more money you make. If you have 1,000 downline members and only 1% of them are successful (10 of them)… then you probably won’t earn a ton of money in your online network marketing business. So make their success a priority.

You can’t believe the hype surrounding online network marketing. Stick with some proven strategies, and you will be good to go.
