Great Virginia Beach Businesses and People to Follow on Twitter

You think about Twitter as a social platform designed primarily to reach people across the country, even the globe, but businesses who use social media smartly can entertain a strong local following with this handy tool. For all the viral interest in Twitter, the wildfire speed of sharing international news and human interest, users still want to know what’s going on in their own backyard. We may continue to read the paper and check the TV, but Twitter has the potential to reach people in real-time. Open a feed window, check the BlackBerry, and the news is there.

If you want to hold a spontaneous sale or promote upcoming events, Twitter gives you an edge with its companion search engine, which is close to rivaling Google and YouTube as one of the top search platforms on the Internet.
